Biology II

Biology II

This course will be a combination of 2 different fields of study. The fall semester will deal with Ecology and the spring semester will deal with the field of Microbiology.

Ecology is a curriculum that is designed to introduce students to major ecological concepts and the environmental problems that affect the world in which we live. There is an urgent need for environmental education. This program provides one way in which students can become aware of the interactions of people and their environment. The curriculum focuses on concepts that are real-life issues. It promotes awareness and understanding of practical every day problems that affect their lives. It also relates important environmental issues to the lives of the students and their
families.

In my class, I require students to have a 1.5 inch to 2 inch 3-ring binder and loose leaf notebook paper. The binder will hold class notes, graded assignments and activities, labs, study guides, and graded tests. This will be graded at the end of the semester.

Within the first week of classes, students may bring in a variety of items to receive extra credit. Those items include, but are not limited to: black or blue pens, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, dry erase markers, facial tissue, or mechanical pencils. Each package is worth 5 extra credit points and students can only bring in 2 packages.

Students will discuss the following topics:
